Did you know?

According to the WHO (World Health Organization), people spend approximately 90% of their time indoors, making indoor air quality critical to our overall health and wellbeing.

Introducing A New International Campaign

inHALE: Indoor Healthy Air for Living Environments will transform how we protect health in indoor spaces, especially for children and their futures.

Children are particularly vulnerable to poor indoor air, which can:

  • affect their development;

  • increase the risk of respiratory illness;

  • and compound health inequities.

Yet, indoor air quality remains an overlooked issue in many health systems, schools, and public spaces where children live, learn, and receive care.

a new era of coordinated action

inHALE brings together global health leaders, researchers, policymakers, and built environment experts to:

  • Elevate indoor air quality as a strategic health priority

  • Link IAQ with infection control, climate resilience, infrastructure modernization, and health equity

  • Accelerate policy and innovation implementation

We aim to ensure safer, healthier indoor environments for everyone, starting with the youngest and most at-risk.

Our goal: Every human deserves breathable air for a brighter future.

IAQ and Health

“Indoor air quality is a key contributor to respiratory health. Approximately 2 million people in Canada aged 35 and over are living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a chronic respiratory disease heavily impacted by air quality.”
